At Axelsen & Son, we design and develop bags and small leather goods with a focus on quality, functionality, and timeless design. Our goal is to create products that can be used and appreciated for many years.

Our leather primarily comes from cattle and is a by-product of the food industry. As a natural material, leather has its own unique character, with natural grain patterns, variations, and distinctive details that make every product special.

Over time, leather develops a beautiful patina that reflects the product’s journey and contributes to its unique appearance. To us, this is a sign of genuine quality and longevity.

With decades of experience in designing and producing leather goods, we are committed to ensuring high standards in both materials and craftsmanship. Creating durable products is an important part of our approach to responsible consumption.

MATERIALS AND PRODUCTION

We continuously work to reduce waste in our production processes and make the best possible use of our materials.

When leather is cut, smaller pieces are used for products such as wallets, keyrings, and other small accessories. Any remaining material is reused wherever possible for other purposes within production.

We set expectations for our suppliers and business partners and actively support responsible production practices through our membership of amfori. We also prioritize collaboration with suppliers that operate according to certified processes and standards, including Leather Working Group (LWG), which promotes more responsible leather manufacturing.

Our products are supplied with paper hangtags containing product information and traceability details. We continuously work to increase the use of FSC-certified and recycled materials in our packaging and information materials.
